CTS3: Roadmap to final beta testing

Beta 1

Coverage: all required methods, except for no support for URN substrings in this release

Projected completion date: Dec. 10, 2008.

  1. Beta 1 test suite released on sourceforge (Dec. 8, 2008)
  2. New CTS validator based on XML Unit released on sourceforge. This validator will work with all subsequent test suites planned through the first release version of CTS 3. (Dec. 8, 2008)
  3. cts3 jar library and groovy/java servlet simultaneously released on sourceforge (Dec. 10, 2008)
  4. Administrative utility to support automatic loading of XML texts for CTS repository implementations using relational back ends released on sourceforge

Beta 2

Coverage: support for URN substrings added

Projected completion date: Dec., 2008

  1. Beta 2 test suite, expanded to test URN substrings, released on sourceforge
  2. Beta 2 version of cts3 jar library and servlet released on sourceforge after passing 100% of beta 2 test suite.

Beta 3

Coverage: optional methods including support for URN topology added

  1. Beta 3 test suite, expanded to test optional methods, released on sourceforge
  2. Beta 3 version of cts3 jar library and servlet released on sourceforge after passing 100% of beta 3 test suite.

CTS 3 release version

Coverage: complete reference implementation of CTS 3.

  1. Evaluate any untested cases that have come up in testing, and add new unit tests as appropriate.
  2. Address all bugs submitted to sourceforge bug tracker during beta testing
  3. Release final CTS 3 test suite on sourceforge.
  4. Release final CTS 3 jar library and servlet on sourceforge after passing 100% of final test suite.
  5. Have tremendous celebration.
