- "version control" or "source control" systems. Example: oXygen has a built-in client for the Subversion version control system.
- transforming XML: XSLT. Many, many tutorials and introductions on the Web, many books (e.g., Bob DuCharme, XSLT Quickly).
Get a person: follow the buddy system for safety.
